About HiP Cameroon 3

HiP Cameroon is an affiliate of HiP International. In 2008, George Afong Nsoh, present board chairman of HiP Cameroon was inspired by the vision of HiP International after his contacts with founder of HiP International, Apostle Walter Willigenburg from Holland. He decided to start HiP Cameroon by July 2009 after having shared the vision with local church pastors. HiP was then registered in Cameroon as an association by order No.037/E.29/1111/vol.8/APPB.

HiP Cameroon has maintained the philosophy of HiP international and has been working in the domain of assisting the poor and the needy in Cameroon. This is done by connecting persons with needs in the community to volunteers in the local church. By doing this, the church of Christ is projected as a helping church, and a light to the world, a city that can’t be hidden as in Mathew chapter 5:14-16. “Let your light shine before men that people may see your good deeds and glorify your father in Heaven”.

HiP Cameroon has been:

  • Mobilizing Christians from local churches to be conscious of the needs of the underprivileged and be of help to them.
  • Helping those in need without any discrimination
  • Stimulating other Christian organizations with similar objectives to partner with HiP

From November 2010 to June 2014, HiP Cameroon has registered the following results:

  • Over 100 churches have been registered in one city Bamenda Cameroon with a population of about 500,000 inhabitants.
  • About 1000 volunteers have been recruited from churches to assist those in need.
  • Over 500 persons in need were received at our help Desk.
  • Over 300 persons in need have been assisted by volunteers in the domain of medical bills, food, shelter, school fees, counseling, vocational training etc.
  • Besides full time staff, HiP Cameroon uses the services of voluntary staff who visit churches to share the vision, recruit volunteers and mobilize persons to come to the Help Desk.

The role of HiP Cameroon is that of connecting those in need in our communities to volunteers from local churches who are ready to assist. By doing this the Gospel is shared in action.

In Cameroon HiP is governed by a board that sets the policies while the management and staff do the day to day running of the organization. Presently HiP operates its activities in Bamenda town but has the ambition to extend its activities to other towns and regions of the country.

Joining HiP as a local church will enable the body of Christ to stand against poverty, loneliness, depression and by this the Gospel will be preached to the whole man.
